5.7 build plans

Starting to gather stuff for a low budget 5.7 build


How much power will an early 5.7 block hold? I've been hearing 1200whp with a short fill. I'd like to hear of other people with successful high HP 5.7 based builds.




Also, will the bottom of the bores need clearanced with a H beam rod?





Also, as far as coils are the 09+ coils different connector wise then the early ones?

I have H beam rods with a 4.05 stroke crank and have plenty of clearance stock.. as for the coils I believe 06 was when they were changed.. I believe 06+ will be the same connector and 05 and down will be a different connector..

Thank you.. according to the parts stores the coils are the same for a 07 and a 2014.




I will be using a 3.795 stroke so I should be good.

I am using a nice 2003 5.7 Hemi block. Supposed to have somewhat thicker cylinder walls. I hear 1,000hp is doable in stock form. Koffle's Place in Huron, Ohio did all my machine work...

Sweet, I've got a little filler left from my SB two years ago so I'll probably do a small fill, just in case.



Really worried about lifting the stock heads more then anything at his point.
