Power steering pump

Will the pressure/volume from a hemi power steering pump work with an older style or borgeson power steering box? I have heard that it won,t, but don,t know for sure. I was planning to add a borgeson steering box to my 64 wagon, but want to know what to expect.

I've seen them live, but its not suggested. I used a bracket from Emil (72Swinger) to run a low pressure, GM TC2 Pump on my Firm Feel box.

I was scared of running the significantly higher pressure pump on my old box, but I'm overly cautious.

Anyone have any reasons to use a Firm Feel box or Borgeson? Is one any better than the other? How do they compare in turns and road feel? Also, can the pressure from a stock Hemi power steering pump be restricted?

All of the steering play and lack of response is taken out. The steering feels more direct and the car is less likely to wander. It feels more like a rack and pinion steering.

I didn't have any luck with turning the Hemi pump and I asked around a ton. I've got about $250 in my whole pump, bracket, pulley and hose set up.

I ran the Hemi pump on the factory PS box for 1500 miles. Input shaft seal started leaking right off, changed it and didn't have any more issues for the 1500 miles.

I then swapped to a borgeson box. That's been in for the last 6,000 miles (of which nearly 20 hours of that is on track road course work, being 20 min sessions at a time mostly) with the Hemi pump. No problems.

So does anyone know what power steering pump , G.M. or other wise can be bolted to a gen III hemi but not over pressure the old style gear box?

I know street and performance offers one , but was just wondering if you can buy an off the shelf pump?

I've searched and read many article but noone really seems to have a pump number?
