Wow. that was fun watching, car seemed to stick rather well except for braking occasional lock ups, car never got out of shape on camera, and seldom used track limits except for last lap pass.
I'd fly to Europe just to watch/hear that car run.

Thanks up

So the fastest cars start at the rear evidently, might make for fun watching, but adds extra risk for a bunch of nice cars.
I wonder if the cars could here that motor coming and with understandable prudence just got out of the way?
Anyone know what circuit that was?

Has anyone thought about or did a body swap an old NASCAR road course chassis onto a mopar shell?

Re: Beastly Challenger T/A from Europe - 02/06/24 02:53 AM

I am sure they have, but the video I watched showed a pretty well hooked chassis for that Hp level. I'm not sure with the same aero and adding a whole bunch of weight a NASCAR chassis has would have improved much lap time wise.

Why not just go out to the barn and fire up a NASCAR Hemi to go racing?

Re: Beastly Challenger T/A from Europe - 02/06/24 06:24 PM

So that was unusual start fastest cars at the rear, however,
Rough passing statistics, not counting spun cars, but including cars passed twice, from perspective of the video car:
Accelerating 1
Mid straight 4
End of straight/Braking 6
Turning (likely includes some off line point by's) 4

My takeaway, somewhat reinforces idea low end torque IMO is less important that HP for passing in road racing,

The track is "TT Assen.
Assen is a town in north of the Netherlands.

Here is the layout of the track;

We all I suspect think the car is the star of this thread, bur wrangling that much horsepower around that racetrack takes a pretty good driver, well done driver.

BTW, what does that white Camaro got that you don't?

Cool guy his name is Beat Gubler on facebook, https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100013500348346
Seems like a good guy. I admire that he does most of the work himself. Its a real race car. It gets wadded up from time to time and he fixes it himself

Re: Beastly Challenger T/A from Europe - 02/09/24 04:41 PM

I takes some stones to do this kind of activity in a classic mopar. It takes really big ones to do this in Europe where prices for importing the material for this type of racing would choke most of us in North America and 98% of us would never even consider taking on this type risk.

Hats off to this guy!!
