Longacre Caster Camber Guage

Longacre Caster Camber Guage - 07/25/18 11:41 AM

For anyone who has used one of these gauges, I just recently purchased mine and tried using it for the first time yesterday. I set my camber on my first wheel and then did a caster sweep, and was happy with both readings for a first check of the first side. So upon returning back to zero degrees on the turn table the gauge is still in caster mode, blinking. To return to camber measurement it says to push the caster button, ok so I did that , but here is were I lose all confidence. The gauge now shows an angle measurement that is no longer the same as my initial camber reading. So I begin the whole process over again chasing a camber reading I want, and than another caster sweep. Now I have such ridiculous caster positive +4* readings that no mopar without offset bushings could possibly obtain. So I go back and easily see my wheel has negative camber. Readjust back to my desired settings and I check the instructions again and I follow the process, but what I now noticed is when you come out of caster mode the gauge no longer shows a little trapezoid in the display, and to bring this back you must hit the zero button. When I do this my camber readings are what I previously set and the caster readings are within range. So what I am asking is the normal process to exit caster mode and than hit the zero button to return back to the mode with the little trapezoid in the display?

Wow no replies. I purchased this based off of comments on this site . Now I wonder did I make a good purchase?

I remember there being something tricky like that. IIRC, we changed our procedure and all ok.

It’s been a couple years. I need to pull it out of the box tonight and refresh myself.
