Removing center link? - 03/08/18 05:49 AM
I need to remove the center link to swap out the headers on my Bee. The center link passes between the tubes of the headers. I'm not sure what is the best method to getting the center link off. I've tried hitting it about as hard as I think is safe. What do you guys suggest?

You can usually pop ball joints with use of two large (±5 lbs) hammers.
Put one (the largest) hammer behind and hit the metal from the front.
Of course you don't whack the balljoint itself, but the part that it's protruding.
Leave the nut loose on the threads in case you hit it wrong.

I bought a ball joint separator but there is no way the tool will fit between the idler arm and center link. I've hit it enough that I think it should have come apart. Should I remove the idler from the frame?
