b body rear spring mount question - 09/14/17 09:01 AM

I know a 68 Plymouth b body is 1"shorter wheelbase than a 68 Dodge
Is this gain in the rear spring mount length ?
I would like to move my diff back a little to fit a 30"/30.5"tall rear tyre , I have a 68 Satellite .
Or should I just use a 1/4"spacer/shim ?
thanks ,

Tex

There are a bunch of different spring hanger combos available since Ma Mopar redesigned that part on a regular basis. You might get lucky and find one that moves your axle back a bit. Mancini sells a large variety of hangers so maybe look over their selection and see what fits. I build my own hangers but that isn't an option for most folks.

Yes dodge is longer in the spring hanger by one inch.

You could get longer hangers like for super stock springs, then re drill the hole for the leaf spring thru bolt to put the rear axle right where you want.
