Hand-Held/Mobile Air Compressor for Autocross and Home - 05/30/15 05:58 PM

I'd like a hand-held air compressor for potential autocross and home use. It would be used just for adjusting tire pressure a couple psi for the track or for my daily commutes. What do you guys recommend?

I found these that may look promising. Also, some people, doing a google search, recommend using a manual bike pump.

I have one of these. Set the dial to the pressure you want, flip it on and walk away. 12v and 120v.

I have a bottle of nitrogen about the size of a scuba tank. Fresh fill is about 2500psi. IIRC.

another option is using the pump that comes in the newer cars, my 09 challenger had a pump that worked really well - I know I used mine a lot. I got really good at plugging tires on that car, it was a magnet for nails....

I would go with a Viair or arb unit. Their stuff is designed for off-road and is really good quality.

I made the mistake of getting the harbor freight 150psi 12v confessor and it's slightly better than junk.

Your going to want a continuous duty pump which is worth paying for.
