Took the car to the first track day of the year. The location was the The Ridge in Shelton WA. Lots of grip at this track and ton of elevation changes. Very challenging but fun....of course!

Got a few good sessions in but ended up finally breaking the transmission. Pushing fluid out the front and not cooling. This thing has been hanging on for a few years now. We knew it was the weak link in the drivetrain, but now we have to address it. To the shop today for a report on the damage.

The car was fast and handled great, look forward to getting out there again.

Your Charger looks great on track! Hang in there and do more events!!

Do you know anything about the Challenger (pic #50)? Is he on our chat lines?

Marty the car looks great! Check the angle of your trans pan in the frontal pic. We all need some engine mounts that keep the motor in place without stupid strut bandaids.

A Schumacher torque link would help to keep the left side of the engine from rising up. Helps in my Charger.

I forget the name of the motor mount that has a built-in strap/link/tab for that. I've also read about a mod you can make and have seen a picture of the mod, but it's been a long time ago. And then I've heard of drilling a hole thru the two metal parts and rubber pad and installing a bolt to limit the travel of the metal parts from spreading apart.

Schumacher used to sell a left side motor mount that was re-inforced to prevent movement. I don't have a current catalog, but I installed one in my '64 Polara and it was street-friendly without being harsh like a solid mount would be.

Mine is a rod with one rubber cushioned end, and hime joint/sypherical rod bearing on the other. Kinda like a sway bar end link.

That is kinda my point. Instead of making a mount that can hang, they sell an ADDITIONAL component to bandaid their stock isolators. Here is my fix, and it works, but the passenger side needs attention.

That looks like the bolt idea I've read about.

Then there is another that has a tab that bends over the top/bottom plate that is part of the bottom/top plate. It's attached to one plate, then bends around the edges to the other plate to keep them from spreading under heavy throttle, but rides softly on the rubber during 'normal' driving. I've seen a picture of it.

I just met Mel, he is from Snohomish. Heck of a nice older gentleman. The car was apparently damaged badly a few years back buy a Semi-truck on the freeway. Anyway, he has caged it, stripped it down and it is basically a track car now. 3- link rear with a panhard, coil overs, 340ci, auto, and around 3000lbs.

Yeah, I have been slowly making my way towards this issue. I had, at one point, installed Schumacher mounts in the car. But that was entirely too much vibration and noise transferring into the car for everyday use. They were in there for about an hour. Currently run the Magnum mounts from Mancini.

I will see if I can come up with something is removable and can be used just for track days.

I've used those in the past. One of them ended up tweaking those tabs but it never failed.

Very nice

...your right side collector is showing...

There is another thread on here about the requirement of 2 schumaker torque rods, one on the right and one on the left to keep the motor mounts from being expanded and compressed and keeping the exhaust system in line

The motor compresses the right side and pushes the collector down, tearing the exhaust hangers...

I hope i do not need to explain further

Same problem in the 2011 pic posted...in 2012 we ran with 2 torque rods with no problems. Actually we noticed a difference in the car with the the 2 torque rods.

Where were you when I spend $3k on a Gear Vendors??!! I am in deep now....probably something I will have to think about changing down the road.

We are attempting to secure a 6.4 with related drivetrain......Still will be a while before that gets swapped in.

I dunno. Our high HP motor is still being pieced together, and so a bone stock 383 is all we have in the shop to put in. If we can get things together and the 341 Challenge doesn't happen, we just may.

I hear you, GVs are expensive. I broke my auto too many times....Hopefully Jamie will start producing his 5 speed. In my eyes its the only solution that solves all the problems.
