Kiddsixpack RIP:

Kiddsixpack RIP: - 07/24/21 05:54 PM

I knew him here locally & would see him at multiple functions every summer. Jim was a great guy & I'm heartbroken for his family, & heartbroken to have to say goodbye - he was pretty young. RIP Jim.

Had he taken the vaccination before contacting the virus ? My understanding is it has to be administered before contracting the virus.
Regardless, RIP and many prayers to his family angel

Jim and I were exactly the same age. Our birthdays are just a few days apart. Jim had a lot of underlying health conditions that made him very susceptible to many things. I do believe he received the first vaccine.

TJP, except for some underlying conditions already mentioned by Kidsixpack, he was fine until a week after his first vaccine - then he became very ill (that's the news I heard anyway). I'll keep my politics to myself, but I'll say I really wish he had not gotten the first shot!

The truth is that Jim had one shot, and was slated to have his second a week after he caught the bug at a work function. Two others caught it at the same time--the guy who was unvaccinated died (read: two people employed at that company are now deceased), while the other had one previous shot and is forever scarred in his respiratory system.

Re: Kiddsixpack RIP: - 08/03/21 01:14 AM

Jim contracted the virus at a work function. A number of others were infected all at the same event. Others were hospitalized as well. Jim was off work at the beginning of the pandemic like most of us were. His underlying issues made it so he was off quite a bit longer.
Like many other people he had to return to work. He stayed quarantined as long as he could.

It’s been a minute since I posted on Moparts last, but got word there was a thread rolling here about Jimmy. Beautiful stuff, gents. Your incredibly kind words are soothing my soul over here, to learn of all the people this cool dude came into contact with.

Can’t thank you all enough from the family and close circle of friends who love to see all this warmth.

And a big shout out to you, Eric, for starting this thread.
