Moparts has suffered a tremendous loss . - 09/28/16 03:02 AM

Sometimes you meet people through the web and expectation as to their character is in question. And sometimes you can tell they are of a quality of heart without even a face to face. I had the incredible pleasure to have met Rick (MrNormsTA) on Moparts and face to face and instantly knew he was a special man. His passion for cars was only surpassed by his passion for being a quality human being. He welcomed friendship with all who he touched and will be missed by many. RIP Rick Wescott. I will win my next race for you and your love for the automobile. God speed my friend.

I didn't want to say anything until I had more information as when it was appropriate - I found last night the Rick was no longer with us. I can't tell you in words the loss that I've felt since. I've had no real sleep and I'm trying not to keep from tearing up. Its unreal then in a flash its real then its unreal and it all starts again.

Rick was a mopar guy through and through and would give the shirt off his back. He helped me with several cars and the last one was a Mach 1 I got a year ago. (he had one before he got into mopars). I needed cash to secure it and only could get out a max 9k from the bank my one and only shot was Rick. I told him that I needed another 9k to make this deal and had only 2 hrs to give the seller an answer. What did Rick say? Sure and when can we get pick up the car? He was my go to person.

I miss him already and loved him always,

People talk about their dogs/cats they have lost. I've lost a great friend that I can never get back. I'm so bereaved and bereft.

This world is a lesser place without him.

He saved a Hemi Charger from a driveway death sentence in Rochester NY. I'll never forget the story of how much water came out from under the vinyl top. RIP friend

Very sad news , I got a text last night about this and I was floored. I haven't seen Rick in a couple of years but he was a great guy that would do anything for you. I met him thhru the board but my first face to face was at Carlisle a number of years ago, I needed a room and he was gracious enough to split his room with me , didn't know me except thru the board.

You will be missed my friend, RIP. angel

I just came across this post and I'm stunned to hear about the passing of Rick. Sometime back I helped to arrange for him the purchase of a local A12 car that I knew of that had been hidden away for many years.

I am very sad to hear of Rick's passing. Dealt with him a few times over the years. He sold a Bahama yellow A12 road runner to my brother, he helped me load my B5 A12 super bee when I bought it and recently I sold him Wally Booth's 69 Super Bee. Always a nice and easy guy to deal with. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Besides being a Mopar and A12 guy he was quite an avid fisherman and golfer....loved the great outdoors, hockey and rock and roll. He had plenty of friends from all walks of life.....

Glad to have known you Rick, lots of laughs that I will always remember. RIP

I had the pleasure of speaking with Guy (Ricks brother) at the wake and told him about the support Rick has received on Moparts. He texted me this message:

Hi Jeff. This is Guy, Rick's brother. I just went through the forum thread. It was amazing to read all the wonderful comments. Rick truly had so many friends from so many of his passions - Mopar, fishing, hockey, golf, etc.

Please comment on the thread that you heard from me and how much it meant to me to see all the Mopar love.

Sounds like the kind of guy that truly embodied "Service before Self" and actually would "Walk the Talk".

I don't think I ever chatted with him here, but it sounds like he was a dynamic individual and will be missed by many. My best regards to his family and friends. He left us far too early.

RIP Rick.
