I will start by saying Happy New Year to all SS/AH racers and fans of the class. A big "Thank you" to all the sponsors of the various "Hemi Chootouts". I hope everyone runs their fastest ET's and MPH's in 2015. A little look at my new stuff for this year. Dyno
Looking good Dan! Calendars are running late but will carry over to Feb. next year according to publisher. I don't do Facebook but evidently Robert filmed our pull at RMRE Tuesday and posted on Hemi Shootout.Net etc. Need a motor name. WESTON? BARCOTT??? Blew up WE DAT ie WAS DAT!!!

Thanks. This was my first time to see this in person. Brad warms the engine and then checks lash as new heads with new seats. So that was first pull and the smoke is the oil that dripped on the headers. He also had the dyno limiter at 8500 (promod setting). You hear him mention "his limiter" after my gasp!!! This thang' made more at 8500 than I had at Indy! He raised the limiter and all is well. Just need to name it.
PS RMRE LOVES the Firecore wires and he is a member here. That's what it's all about. Thanks again for watching. Calendars out next week.
No Problem Raceway (NPR) and Division Four (D4) Good Guys are pleased to announce the second annual Tim Hebert Hemi “Chootout” to be contested during the Cajun Sports Nationals March 20-21, 2015 in Belle Rose, La. Tim Hebert was a long time NHRA D4 racer who passed away suddenly at age 53 on June 2, 2013 after participating in the NHRA Englishtown National Event. His orange and white 1968 Barracuda has been seen at NHRA and Hemi Shootout events throughout the United States for decades and will be participating in the “Chootout” with his son Rory at the wheel. “Chootout” will be during Friday’s class eliminations, check event flyer for exact times. D4 Good Guys: Southland Dodge (Joe Teuton), Steve Kent Services (Steve Kent), Paillot Bros. Construction (Joe & Jerry Paillot), Engines Inc (Lloyd Wofford), Henson Family Dealerships (Fred Henson), 3001 (Stephen Hebert) and NPR are proud sponsors of the event. “If you have a Hemi car or enjoy watching Hemi cars, be at NPR and participate in the celebration of Tim’s racing accomplishments,” said long time Southland Dodge teammate and last year’s runner up Lil’ Joe Tueton. Over fifteen entries are estimated and a cash purse will be based on participating cars.
Roatan one of the most oderifurous places I have been. It is a different world down there for sure. Beats Iraq and Afghanistan for sure but not by a lot. Gotta love all the cops on corners with M16's. But home of some of the best reef diving in the world.
Calendars, boy I must be way behind the times. I did not know you did a calendar.
Could have swore the score board showed a 31? Must have been to excited to be there to remember. ALL of the AH cars there were awesome. The detail in them is amazing. Some of the other Super Stockers were works of art also.
Just wanted to say congratulations to Gary Wolkwitz and the Barton crew for resetting the National Record. Countless hours of work and hard effort have been put into the car as well as the engines to achieve this current position. The car had a 1.12 Sixty foot time on the 8.22 @ 160.69 run. The Orlando facility was great for setting the record. Thank you to all the Nhra Officials for your hard work in giving us a good race surface. Check out the video link below.
Hope to see y'all at Belle Rose in a month for the "Chootout"
Glad everyone likes the calendars. I think they turned out real good. Thanks to Doug Walker and Hemishootout.net for their support. Still have a few more in stock. go to speedzonemagazine.com
You all remember this famous photo, blowing my whistle because I had dyno air in it. Charlie Who sits in corner as spare, Ray Who sits in Kent's trailer ready to pounce on the unsuspected and Who Dat became Was Dat at Indy. So read on for the new name and slogan.
Word out of Orlando last week was Two Scoop called Spyphish and asked him to come to Orlando Speed World and show off all that RM Hemi power he has. Spyphish's response.............
...........WHERE DAT ??!!!!
Good luck to all SS/AH racers at the gators!! class is going to be good! Let's hope audiocast works!!
Quote: Found the missing piston, in the oil filter! Try to run at Gators with seven firing.
Is that an aluminum rod? Was that your bracket engine? Interesting fractures on the rod. It looks like a brittle fracture. I wonder what alloy they used?

Not AH at all, just some junk out of the dumpster. Thanks for looking. We should be OK!
Out testing the new bullet in a match race with Jeremy's 500 inch PS motor (Alguire motor). It was his first pass on it so I won due to a small gremlin on his high gear. Gathered some data for Belle Rose.
Also, looks like someone in the stands posted on Youtube Mouton vs Hebert. Turn it up (pun)!!!
Thanks guys. It has a thing-a-ma-jig in it. Jeremy posted in car on youtube I think. Said it would be Spyphish in car. Crank it up as I did! 10,000 @ shifts!!

Congrats to you Dyno! You were actually racing, while a lot of wish we were. Hang in there for all of us "old teachers". Also, congrats on making it to the class final at the Gators. Dan
Well since the "Gary Who" motor scored me a free set of heads, AND the RMRE 5 axis CNC already has that bad boy head tune up programed, AND it's five months until Indy AND one of my mentors could not make the Cajun race SO we are going to cook up another bullet for him SO we need another name AND it needs to be breakfast related. Is that a run on sentence???
Airwoofwer, they sure can. As a matter of fact out of the 38 SS/AH cars that made passes last year only 2 were original cars. The car you mentioned sold last Saturday and that was a great deal. Hopefully the new owner will compete in SS/AH in the future.
He told me personally via phone on April 8th that it had sold. Boogie say's he still has it. SOOOOOOOO. I don't know. He said in went to Pa but I didn't ask who.
In checking this mornings drone footage of all the competing shops, I notice the white Earthquake car has moved to a shop in Thibodaux with lots of activity around it. D4 is heatin' up!!!!
Dragging my junk to Arlington in the AM. NEED MORE POWER SCOTTY!!!!
Hi, I've got an old Barton intake, that I need to figure out what the carburetor linkage should look like. If anybody has a picture, of that type of linkage on their intake, I'd sure like to see a picture of it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dan
According to Larry Perkins (SS/AH car #148) Herb Gebler passed away a few years ago. He had been in the performance exhaust header fabrication business for forty plus years and did exceptional work and could deliver finished product when he promised. A very talented guy. Larry Perkins has a set of Gebler Headers on his Barracuda.
Yep he has the engine for sale already. New Eric Jones piece will replace it. May be a while on the Hemi, might be a GT car until then. Bill Collett in the "Dixie Hemi" has already made it to the track. Keep em comin.
I am in need of a CSR trans shield for my SS/AH car. If anyone has one they are not using that is less than 5 years old, I would be interested in purchasing it. Thanks, Jr. 717-465-7829
Hello Moparts. I recently purchased Wayne Huttons ss/ah car and in the process of putting it together. I plan to run some national events as well as some local hemi and super stock events with the car. Ill be out at the mopar nationals this year with the car. Any other ss/ah cars plan on coming to the event?
bigred198, I will be at the Mopar Nats. Will you have the car there? I know the car well. A lot of history there, the old Drag Hag car of Harold Dutton.
LOL!! Im trying really hard to get it there. My transmission leaves today and if I get all my clutch parts and carb parts in it will be there. Got my fingers crossed been hammering on it everyday to get it there.
Yeah the history is awesome on the car. If anyone knows any leads to get ahold of the Duttons I would greatly appreciate it. Trying to get all the history on the car documented.
Harold lives a few miles from me, Have not spoken to him in a while. Betty died a few years ago. Harold is not doing great. If you PM me your number I will try to get it to Harold and see if he wants to talk about the old car. Always a hoot to talk to Harold.
Since we broke the dyno on first pull, we will make a run a Evadale (Ben Bruce Raceway) this Sat. evening before we make the 16 hr haul to Indy in a few weeks. Started Mellon motor tonight and it sounds good. We will see.
Spyphish is coming from way down South, looking to do more that run his mouth. Say's it's now time to shake and bake, new Reher & Morrison power to "calm the Quake".
With a new record the Earth Quake is comin, Wolkitz Bro's have her hummin. They got a new pole to go phishin with, think they got the hook for ole Spyphish. Rector scale rumbled from a quake in excess, But a lot of work going on from a Cajun in Texas.
Gone this year is some of the bling, But the Bullet's driver can sure make her sing. Reloaded with a new Silver Bullet in the chamber, makes the Lone Ranger shake with anger. Keepin the chassis they all knew, Another by Roth @ MR2.
With his dad by his side, Welker's back, Just hopes the Silver Bullet keeps Frito, He's a Quack.
The Pro Stock effort came and went, Hemi should work better for Steve Kent.
Lil Joe's been testing to stay in the mix, Drivin, shiftin & hittin with a big "STIX".
With the 4 speed in, Mantus & Parker will be back, If they need help, they will call Donnie Mac.
Warfish is active with the Island Hemi Dart, makin Chuck and Steve look good from the start.
With Armstrong Power and son Colton by his side, Mark Howes has the car for a wild ride.
Doug Fazzolare has a new car and comin to play, bringin power with him from Ray in PA. He's been around Hemi's for a long while, a win here sure would make "Big Joe" smile.
Dr D has been layin pretty low, but all packed up and ready to go. Installed a 4 speed to have some fun, he hopes it last more than just one run.
Cake will be drivin a 4 speed now, leg & arm moving real fast, make you say WOW.
Berry & Warburton comin with a plan, a homebuilt piece from the popcorn man.
The recent setback is OK, Jason will get it right, Candy Cuda the best thing out of West Virginia, since Jesco White.
Wendell is comin from across the border, lookin to better last years R/U in short order.
The change in power gives Keyes the nod, last years guy couldn't get a push rod. eh?
Hell's Hemi said "I told you, I'd be back", With his own power Jr's ready to attack.
Palliot Bro's Dart will be there, You'll know by the smell, Cajun cookin in the air.
Mr. Collette's been around but new to the class, hopes the Dixie Hemi will kick some azz.
Cleve's been keepin em safe in Memhips, Tenn. how his Hemi will run, can't wait to see.
Missouri Mule gonna put on some hurt, with power again from Specialty Motorwerks
Wofford & Caro with engines inc. pro stock help won't let em sink. Hope there's not a roll back involved this year, sure glad it didn't happen in high gear.
A pit spaced is saved and the grass cut low, Where is big Dan they all want to know. Still looking for an entry from the Gold Coast Hemi, Not the same with his shake and shimmy.
A brand new entry was just received today, The "Texas Twister" wasn't ready to play. so the Hemi Dart will have to do, another "Camo" motor, that makes it two.
From what I was told Dave went through the trap and the car took a right turn into the wall and then rolled. Report was that he seemed to be okay but was head to the hospital.

Someone on Classracer said they added Wescott heads to their engine. Maybe more? He sure seemed to have picked up from what I've seen previously. Congrats to Wofford for the win and a great showing by Mantus as well. Mark Howes did well too. It was nice to see new cars in the finals and Spyfishy at the top of the qualifying ladder.
Gus builds his own motors with parts from CW. Noting new for a couple of years, same heads for a while. The chassis was built by Andre Mailoux. Sean Parker crews the operation. They do test a lot, as a matter of fact going out again tomorrow. Hard workers for sure

Anybody know if Dave Collette is looking to replace his damaged Cuda?
If so, I have a line on a car he might be interested in.
Yes he is. Talked to him on Saturday and he is looking to sell the remnants of the Dixie Hemi and looking to buy a low run AH car. If u have one, he may consider as he's still looking….
Best run was 8:60@157.58 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyVP-zlIaWU Just wait till next year!!!Car was ready 2 days before this run,no testing, tuning, seat time clutch ect!!! 2nd run in vid.First time out since 2009.
I notice that most of the SS/AH cars have a lot of bump steer when they land from a wheelie. Bucky's car did not seem to do that, nor did the Camaro's or even the white Nova. The early Nova's had a reputation of having terrible front end geometry. It looked better than most of the Mopars. Is this because of the strut rod on the A-bodies, or is it something else?
A lot of times the tire wobble you see when the car lands is from a bad idler arm. I've seen it on my own car and others. On mine the bushing in the idler was shot from all the wheelies. Changed it, and the wobble was gone.
OK thanks OutlawSSAA. I was thinking it was the strut rod bushings being too soft. I'll check the idler arm on my Belvedere before I finish the car. I'll have to take the drag link off to get it through the oil pan anyway, so that will be a good time to check it.
This is where I've gotten them in years past. Don't know if they did one for 2015. If so, I missed it. Just went to the site and there was no mention of calendars. Maybe an email will get you what you want to know.
Nothing has been posted in a while, so I will start by asking a couple of questions. Any new cars being built or freshened up? Without an early season race at No Problem, will there be a "Shootout Race" at the Jegs race at Bowling Green? No real snow to speak of in Minnesota so winter has been shortened a month already. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and has a good Christmas season. Take care everyone. Dyno
Just for you Dyno, Eric Bell will enter the fray with power from Erik Jones. Speaking of Jones there is a possibility that another one of his customers may return for a few races in 2016 as soon as he TCB. (hint). A new/old car is now ready and the owner from Northern Ohio plans to race SS/AH. The car has a long history and the chassis builder who updated it went to great lengths to preserve the award winning paint. After a well known car was wrecked the owner/driver wanted to get another car and race in SS/AH but it now looks like he will take the Drag Pak route.
We will be running the Tim Hebert Chootout at Bowling Green Ky Memorial Day weekend. And NHRA will give a grade point!!!
Need Frito to round up some goodies, I am working on purse sponsor and Nitro Joe is working with track to park us and run us together. Mark your calendar. Heck, I don't have any calendars.....
Could use a roll call as well. I think we can get 25 cars. SCW
2013- The day the NHRA stood still (SS/AH sans head rules) - 01/03/1604:05 PM
A 3 year old SS/AH winter progress video of one of the baddest Hemi engines at the time. This was when NHRA eliminated most of the Super Stock Hemi head rules for SS/AH.
Who makes a set of Hemi valve covers that will fit over a set of Jesel Valve train rockers? I have a set of Stage 5 ( not close to fitting) and Moroso sheet metal, barely work. Charlie said his fit, but no longer available. Thanks, Dyno
