after 25 yrs, the 71 cuda ran again! - 06/29/10 07:23 PM
took it to the survivor show this past sunday (at the mecum event in st charles IL), and could not get in as I was not preregisterd (and they had very limited space due to flooding of the grounds). anyways, after a new gas tank, a swapped carb and radiator from another cuda, it lives, it was last on the road in 84! Its all original, even leaking exhaust..
did receive good help on moparts...thanks much!
a lot of credit goes to the colorized black turtle wax! it brings old black paint back to life. Car feels light and the original motor rocks (it is quick). I was shocked to find out the carb on these 340s are 800cfm stock and can cool the fuel 20 degrees over the previous yrs design, when I made a poster board for it, and did research on the carb. That is trivia a chevy guy would not believe is true (the carb on this car is bigger than the carb on a big block solid lifter chevy 396-427 pushing 425HP). So enjoy the pics....
