Man you must get some serious double-takes while driving down the road in that awesome machine. It' too bad that there aren't many outdoor theaters around anymore because a pile of blankets, some pillows, a bottle of TJ Swan and some condoms would be just the ticket in the back of your wagon during the second show of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Keep that gem in one piece!

Brian

P.S. On second thought, forget the condoms!

THIS WILL PROBABLY BE MY LAST ATTEMPT AT A
STREET CAR(I'LL BE 75 IN 3 MONTHS,AND MY "OLE"
BODY IS GETTING WEAK).

Sam,

Well don't let your age be too much of a deterrent to having fun with that machine. My father is 79 and still drives his John Deere farm tractors around out in the field just like when he was my age. Sometimes I think he does it just to get the goat of his friends who have nothing to work on except an occasional 5-minute honey-dew project for the Mrs. I'll bet your friends don't mind either a) coming over to lend a hand on your machine or b) going for a ride to the local DQ for a cone or blizzard.

Keep the wheels rolling,

Brian

very cool wagon, and I gotta chime in with these guys, don't let your age stop you, my Dad is 73, and he bought a vintage racecar and started racing last year. and he's currently leading the points in his class!

Nice car, do you have any more pics? The color shows much better in the pic from the rear, frontal shot lighting and reflection sort of hide the colors.

Nice ride... I love wagons.

I think it's great, this hobby has no boundaries as far as age!!!! Here's a pic of my father.... age, 69 or as he says "closer to 70"... he never stops! His plans for this winter... change the frame on one of his pick ups!

NO MORE MELTED SHIFT CABLES.
I GOT A CORONET 500 CONSOLE AND SHIFTER,AND INSTALLED IT.
I STILL NEED ONE LITTLE ROD (I HAD TO MAKE ONE)
TO MAKE IT RIGHT.IT'S ABOUT 8"LONG.NO ONE LOCAL
SEEMS TO HAVE ONE.

Sam,

That's a pretty nice looking console. What year was it from? Does is behave like a Slap Stik (i.e., where you could systematically bump it from low up through drive)?

Re: MY 66 BELVEDERE 11 WAGON - 06/27/10 01:28 PM

HEY, HOW YA DOIN?
IT'S FROM A 1966 DODGE CORONET(I BELIEVE
66-68 ARE THE SAME)YOU CAN SHIFT IT,BUT UNLIKE A
SLAP SHIFTER YOU HAVE TO USE THE BUTTON.I MODIFIED
THE SHIFT DETENT(ROUNDED IT)SO I CAN BUMP SHIFT IT. THE BIGGEST REASON I WENT TO STOCK STYLE IS IT'S
A PAIN IN THE A** WITH THE CABLES THAT I'VE
ALWAYS USED.
TALK AT YA LATER.

Hey Sam,

So have you done any tweaking to the hot wagon over the winter to get her primed for another season of scaring the local law enforcement into hiding and conversely drawing all the neighborhood womens' attention?

Please keep us up to speed on your latest developments with this enviable machine.
