71 Duster 340 4 speed - 10/10/23 06:42 PM

Hello all just wanted to share this one. Having my 71 Duster redone after many years in it current state, have owned it since high school 1989. Figured it needed an overhaul front to back. So ned AMD fenders and inner fender, really nice used radiator support to start. Had glass fenders on it when I bought it, but want a more resto-mod type thing now. Still keeping my Larry Sheppard 340 in it, have an exact date block for it. But it's not the original, has the correct 4 speed still. So here's some progress picture's thus far.
Thanks, Ken

Here's a few of the car in works. Yes I know Moulin Rogue was not available in 71. But I've always liked it so that's how it is staying. Was originally a gree/green car, but was black when I bought it. Let's hope the shop starts making more progress here. Going to large bolt pattern all around w/73 disc brakes. Rear is a Strange 60 3.54 w/disc as well. Anyone need a pair of 15x3 4" bolt circle Centerline Auto/Drags????

Nice looking Duster! I understand about you wanting to paint it Moulin Rouge.
A friend of mine ( now deceased) owned an original '71 340 4 Speed Duster.
His car was B3 light blue when new, and that's how he bought it, just out of high school. But after a few years...
He built up the 340 to about 550-575 H.P. put in a 6 point bar, then painted it FC7 In Violet purple 🟣 with the correct 340 stripes.
It was a street car, but with a roller cam and 3" inch exhaust, it was a wicked car!
Good luck on your Duster! up

Some progress is good progress. Made to patches on the inner rockers. Need to get some pictures, came out and fit well. They don't repop the seat brackets so they had to be welded up as well. The floor pan is about 1/2 pinned in place. Glad to see it moving forward again
