penski61 73 challenger build - 08/20/17 03:33 PM

hey everyone just picked up a 73 challenger that has about 90% of the bodywork done on it , for the most part it appears to be a complete car . fun time getting it loaded without the suspension up front only a hitch with some casters welded on it (which one broke and fell off trying to roll it )but good thing its light enough that we could lift the front end on the trailer then winch it the rest of the way up
it will be getting a gerst suspension up front with 6.4 hemi and tr6060 , haven't decided what to do about the rear axle yet

Looks like a nice starting point to a project! I saw Gerst's stuff at The Nats. It's well built, and well engineered. I prefer HDK suspension, but Carl's stuff is very nice. Good luck with the project! up

thanks Josh , see in your sig you have a 60's tw cummins project I had one as well got it running and driving and sold it to a guy in Idaho and I know another guy in mesa that has a 58 or 59 wanting to do the same thing haha

Here is what I've got so far , took the 60 out of the duster I was building , got the frame plated and got the lower coilover mounts on the axle . Need to cut the brackets off that were for the duster then once the frame mounts show up I can get those welded in

more progress , the adjustable frame mounts i ordered didn't work out the way I wanted so I had to go a different route .shot of the shock cross member cut out and new cross member for the upper link mounts .

got more done today , the hoops legs go thru both sides of the frame and are plated on the inside of the frame .tomorrow ill see if I can make the upper coilover mounts off the hoops

Looks awesome! My challenger is back halved now so if you need any random sheet metal let me know. I kept all of it because I am a hoarder. That guy with the other Town Wagon actually saw mine out front and stopped by. He was actually trying to sell it for a while...
