1971 cuda 340 4spd - 02/02/16 02:07 AM
Picked up this '71 340 4spd cuda a few weeks ago. The original owner passed and the family decided to sell the car. It was stored in a building on a farm for about 20 years or so. It had a repaint in the original GK6 color and vinyl top probably around 30 years ago. Besides that normal wear parts have been replaced. Original engine and transmission. I don't think the engine has ever been out of the car. Original carb, alternator, radiator and the distributor was in the trunk. Original leather interior with rallye gauges 82k miles. Power steering, drum brakes, a/c, road lamps and original 14" steel wheels that had dog dish hubcaps. Original dealership paperwork and one build sheet so far. Really nice rust and accident free body. I plan on cleaning and detailing more then driving it.

There is a "okay, I am good" car. No need to be looking for another one in the future. 4 speed and AC with the story- clean it, enjoy it and for heaven sake; drive it!
Good buy!

I have gotten side tracked on a few other projects. The vinyl top was replaced years ago with the incorrect pattern along with a 80's lower rear window channel repair that needed to be fixed correctly so at this point since it's not the original paint it's probably leading to fresh paint.

I ended up getting the car repainted. With the 80's lower rear window repair the panel needed to be replaced. The previous repaint that was done in the 80's just had to many issues. I'm really happy with the results.

The new GK6 really looks great in the sun. New head liner and vinyl top next.

https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/1052927.htmlCheck this thread out on painted grills. Yes GK6 was on the list to have a painted grill but didn't guarantee that it actually did. The grill in the car is the original grill the car came with in the original paint. I have done some research and found a mix of painted and argent grills in GK6 71 cudas. Also the argent grill cars all have chrome headlight rings instead of the argent rings. Also found a few cars that had leather interior like mine and no door panel wood grain trim like mine. I got this car from the original owner in very original condition along with zero accidents.
