Project Tentanus - '62 Belvedere Sedan - 04/25/15 05:53 PM

Bought this 2dr sedan last week for its quarters. Had spied it on EBay giving up all its parts so asked to buy rolling remainder. From pics could see quarters were very nice and solid and asking price was too good to pass up. Picked up and realized besides cowl rust (corners horrible), the rest of car is amazingly solid despite way it looks. Main cowl good, all subframes rock solid, quarters even better shape than thought, as well as most of trunk and kick downs. Center of trunk gone and rear floor pans nappy but all in all good.

As stated bought to cut off quarters and stash away but think may turn this hull into something more fun. I've realized between the 3 other 62's I've got that I have most of missing parts that are gone off this one. Oh and I did get the sedan doors in deal too which are nice. My other cars are too nice to race and think this is perfect body to do so with. Wish me luck and keep an eye on thread.

No way I would cut that up either.

Good find and good decision.

I can relate; two years ago drove to DeKalb, Illinois to buy a 62 2 door Savoy, which I intended to strip and use parts for my other one.

It had been hit in the right rear corner and looked awful, but once I got it home I realized it was not one I could part out. I too found one on eBay being parted and bought the right rear corner off that one to save mine.

It's now painted, although about to go back to the paint guy for a re-do because of problems with the 1st paint job.

Anyway, I'll be watching. By the way the 4 door panels you sold me are installed and worked out great!

Finally back home. Bolted some parts back on to clear out storage space. Has some wicked outer patina but quarters are very solid and straight. Doors pretty solid also BUT cowl corners are shot, the upper corners rotted massively but could be fixed I suppose.
