Big Block car and it looks solid for someone that is a fan of the body style. Price looks reasonable to me.

Did anyone else notice the text is written like a Nigerian email scam?

I have to wonder how legit it is.

Solid nice looking car though.

I think the guy is a german living in the US. So my guess is the ad is real.
But his reputation in germany is not the best. There are quite a few not so happy people in germany that got a car from him.

So a potential buyer should make sure he gets all the pictures he requests to check the condition of the car or sent someone to inspect it before purchasing.

Neat car. Love the interior and top.
Not outrageously priced either.
Wish it was closer , would check it out for sure.

Does look solid in the most important places and I like it despite the wheels and spacers or whatever is going on in back. I'd put it back to factory ride height with 15" or maybe 16" wheels and probably a 4 barrel down the road.

I may be partial, but I think in today's market, thats a deal. Love everything about it. Wonder if the 70 Fury is for sale? Looks to be decked out like a GT.....

He also has it listed on Facebook and FBBO. Here is something to copy and paste to view the FBBO ad : https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/1972-charger-topper-x-400bb.282432/ A good friend of mine is very interested in this car is there anyone else that has any experience with the seller either good or bad that I can let him know about? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I guess it may have actually showed up as a link to FBBO

Ive bought a lot of good cars from not so good people........ one just needs to go in person and spend a couple hours on the car.

Id not care if SATAN was on the title and he was sitting there. If I can spend a couple hours going over a car in person it does not matter if the seller is SATAN or the POPE.

It does look like a unique car that many would do good with.

My point of the above is simple.... ive gotten the good cars ive bought from sketchy sellers because I did not WAIT to act.....

Tell your friend to beat feet and go look at the car or pay a smart mopar guy to go do it sooner then later.

Someone will end up with a really different cool car.

I hear you there Potato. I have also bought cars from great people, and not so great people. The issue is my friend is in FL and the car is in WA so they are about as far apart as they could possibly be and he would be buying it without seeing it in person. I told him that from what I could tell after searching through his posts on FBBO the guy seems legit and that I saw no reason to doubt he is getting an accurate description of the car. Then I happened to see this thread where Carsten mentioned the seller possibly not having such a good reputation in Germany. Having said that, I feel like whenever you are selling a used vehicle there is a lot higher chance of a dissatisfied customer than if you were selling a more simple item like a book. I told him to give the guy a call and see what kind of feeling he gets after talking to him and his gut instinct may give him the answer on what he should do.

After your friend calls the seller and feels him out, I'd suggest you reach out to members here for anyone who's relatively close and can go see the car in person. Offer paying a fee for their time, gas, etc.

Never buy a car sight unseen, regardless of the seller, etc.

That is a good idea. Thanks moparmike1 ! I see it's still on FBBO but my friend said the Facebook ad is no longer active so it might have sold.

Buying sight unseen is a risk for sure but sometimes to find what you really want you may have to take that chance. I've done it close to ten times, only burned once. It's always much more preferable of course to see and inspect but flying from FL to CA to look at a car isn't something I can do. There are inspection companies that will inspect and sent super detailed photos. I paid $250 once to have a car inspected and it told me not to buy after seeing the pics.

I agree. I did it for the first time in 2020, and again in 2021 and it worked out well for me in both instances. But we have also all heard the horror stories. I think it's like anything else, you like to think the majority of people are good honest people but you're always going to have some bad apples out there. For me I'm old school and always like to talk to someone on the phone before getting too serious about buying something that isn't close to home. It's amazing how many times my gut feeling for a situation has changed one way or the other between an email or text message and a phone conversation.

Same here. Speaking on phone you get a good or bad feeling. I've asked a specific question and then gotten a quick sort of answer and then the seller tries to move on to another selling point. Red Flag.

Conversations are usually good indicators, and occasionally so are detailed & articulate emails.
But - there's a Mopar guy in Sparks NV who's a slick & accomplished liar.
Hours of back & forth with good answers, but almost none of it true when you see and inspect the car.
He's pretty handy with camera and video too, skillfully avoiding problem areas.

One guy out of dozens isn't bad odds, but I hate being lied to.

For those that bought sight unseen, what amounts are we talking about? For $5k or less, sure, roll the dice.

For almost $15k, I'd gladly pay a member or even an automotive appraiser for a pre-purchase inspection before going ahead and actually buying, then shipping, whatever the car is.

$15k, plus shipping, might as well say $17k, to roll the dice and hope for the best??

I bought an '88 Diplomat AHB from a guy in New York. Ad spoke of what great condition it was and had "Drive anywhere". Speaking with him I got the same information and it was what I wanted (white, factory S code 4 barrel police). I took a chance and when I got it it VERY obviously had been sitting a longggg time. The cowl was buried in leaves, the fan belts were broken and hanging, there was mud in rear quarters. Fortunately those Police motors used to be built to the hilt back then so I eventually got it running good with complete tune up, belts, filters, fluid changes, etc. But that seller was a real Richard Cranium.

Here you go, Google search for appraisers in Tacoma.

https://bighornautoservices.com/

Rated 4.7 out of 5 on Google. Give them a call and get a price for a pre-purchase inspection.

The first car I bought sight unseen was $13K and a Craigslist deal with $1400 shipping. The second was a $12K ebay deal with $1000 shipping. With both cars they were pretty much all original down to the paint so I wasn't as much concerned with vehicle condition or hidden damage etc as I was about actually getting the car after I sent the money. In both cases the seller could not have been a better guy. I will say though that I could never imagine buying a real high dollar car without being there in person.

Mine were never high dollar. My attraction is to lower dollar Mopars in general. Two exceptions have been '70 Swinger 340 and '69 or '70 GTX but I never found right ones.
