There is a guy on the east coast buying these 55-56 cars up and dropping them on later model chassis powertrain conversions and getting serious big bucks for them. He bought a friend of mines 55 and it was a running driving nice original car. for $30k All he wanted was the body
I've seen that guy's work on a couple he did - pretty impressive in photos.
Interesting that this one and the '57 300C in another post both have their LF door interior trim removed. Wild guess is the sellers were defeated - "that's the last straw !" - by power windows ?
Couldn't agree more on the 56. But the 55 is the original.
Just like a 1965 formula S barracuda 273 4bbl 4 speed with a blistering 235 horsepower. It was the original.
Or would you rather have a 68 340? A 69 383 4 speed, a 1969 440 M code, or a 1970 hemi or 440 with a shaker? AAR? They were a step up from the original
