1937 Dodge pickup .. - 08/10/08 09:14 PM

There is a fairly complete, did run but, been sitting so it has not run for about a year he says ...1937 Dodge pickup for sale

It looks pretty decent and the guy wants 6k for it

I'm thinking its worth allot less than that , maybe more like $3700.00 or so ?
whatcha think is fair for it

I don't think he will get 6K out of an original 37 pickup unless it is perfect in every way, but I suppose someone out there would give it to him. I'm thinking 3-4K is a good price range if it has a good body and proper pasper work, if he really wants to sell it. Maybe he's going to hold out for that 1 guy. Gene

No, its far from perfect ..

Its about a 6.5 to 7.0 maybe ..does not run right now, been sitting over a year ..was "painted" about 6 years ago and I use the term loosely

Its a great rod project is all ..I would not be out of line offering $3500.00 yah think ?

Your price is pretty much in-line for what you described depending on the usual condition issues (rust, dents, missing parts, etc.). I've seen original drivers go for $6k but they were very nice originals and also current "drivers".

I am with the 4K guys, but only you can decide how badly you want it.

It could look nice hopped up ..Just did not want to offend the guy when I low ball him with my offer

You know the drill, but I'll repeat it. Go to the guy and make all sorts of excuses for making a low-ball offer, tell him you have cash flow problems or whatever. Tell him you know he could maybe get more than you are offering, but you are there today and he doesn't have to wait and see. Green dollars helps too. But, here's the most important thing; Leave him a card or something with your name, phone number, and a reminder to call you if he changes his mind or before he pulls the trigger on a deal. Put another one in the glove compartment of the pickup. Lots of times guys say no and then rethink the deal. Do not burn your bridges with the guy.

When I was a kid there was a bachelor who had a 36 ford coupe, a sweet old car, that everyone tried to buy.
He wasn't ready. When he did decide to sell, nobody was around and he sold it to a local junk car collector for a couple of hundred $.
