Early Mopars vs. ...

I have never owned an early model car. I was wondering about the interior room: Mopar vs Ford & GM cars in the late 20's & early 30's. I've heard early Mopars were all steel while the others had a lot of wood inside their structure, it that true?

Were the Mopars wider across than others at the dash area, making for more foot room?

How about the front seat area, where the Mopars broader, making for a wider more spacious seating area?

They did tend to being bigger, but there are no absolutes. Also, a late 20s car is going to be smaller in most cases than an early 30s car.
If you are going to rod one, the seating, steering and pedals can all be moved.
You can often get a decent idea how much room there is by looking at pictures, but nothing beats seeing it and checking in the flesh.
For more history, check out allpar.com's articles, and I'd suggest getting a copy of Chrysler 1924-1990 and The Complete History Of Chrysler. They will tell the story of how the cars developed over the years, include pictures and production numbers.

You are right about all steel. The only wood in my 36 Coupe were the top bows for the soft roof.
