Found a 1925 Maxwell

Found a 1925 Maxwell - 04/26/09 05:45 PM

OK, I'm deep into Arkansas picking up two 52 Buick woodie wagons for a guy in St Louis and I spot an old car peeking out of the barn. It's a 1925 Maxwell sedan, somewhat disassembled but all piled together. The wood framework is still intact and useable and it still rolls on the wood spoke wheels. The guy has another 1924 Maxwell chassis with a running drivetrain but no body. I can get the whole works for around a grand. What do you guys think? I didn't have my camara to get pics, sorry.

I suppose owning a Maxwell might be cool, but there is too much wood there for me. Making it a hot rod would almost be a crime, can't be many around. According to what I've read, a 25 is an unsold 24 with the dates changed, so everything should work to make it a driver. Gene

I don't think I'll ever have that problem . I delivered the Buick woodie wagon and bought this from the guy for $250. I know a guy who collects Nash projects so it will probably get flipped to him

Yeah there's no problem there. As long as it makes you money go for it.
