Other than the 36 mono gage dash what are the cool dashes that mopar put out during the 30-50s?

Personally my all time favorite is the Chrysler Astrodome dash but as those didn't appear until 1960 that doesn't apply here.

For the 50's I'd have to go with the 1957-58 Dodge dashes.

Besides having a full set of gauge pods (that were actually pretty easy to read), the ash tray was kind of neat....rather than pull out it spun around.

While the 3 speed stick cars and two speed Powerflight cars had a conventional ignition switch, the switch on the Torqueflight equipped cars only had acc/off/run positions. To start the car you turned the switch to run and pushed in on the neutral button in the shifter pod.

The neatest part was the ribbon type speedometer with the red line that read off the speed.

I'd actually considered using that dash in place of the original un my 57 Plymouth (it would have been a bolt in).

`58 neutral/starter share the same button haha , it took me a bit before I could hit neutral with out grinding starter.

Great looking dash with huge gauges. Chrome, chrome and then more chrome.

The wiring from the N button switch to the starter solenoid is supposed to go thru a vacuum switch on the intake manifold that opens the circuit when the engine is running. Over the years I've seen far more bad switches (always closed) or wired around or the ignition switch replaced with a more conventional acc/off/run/start switch than I have seen cars that actually work the way they are supposed to.

iagree My current '57 Dodge is stick shift so I have a traditional ign. sw. My previous '57 with auto went through 3 vacuum switches while I owned it. rant
