318 to 360 - 11/17/17 03:44 AM
I want to replace a very tired 318 from a 97 truck with a 360, using all the 318 components - computer and fuel injection electronics. Can this be done without any issues? Thanks, John

You will have to change the torque converter/flywheel from the 318 to the 360 for the 360 balance.
Unless you push your truck to the extremes, the 318 stuff will run the 360. If you really push it, at the higher rpm range, I suspect the 318 stuff could run a little lean for the 360, but for normal driving it should be OK. Gene

Generally, the stock tune on the Magnums is pretty rich at WOT, you might find it runs better with a 5.9 in place.

also the crank damper needs changed.....
I believe the passenger side motor mount needs to be played with a bit unless I am mistaken? 3/8" to 1/2" of shims on a bolt or two?
