had to regroup and let one project go

had to regroup and let one project go - 05/11/15 05:57 PM

here are the pics of the 47 dodge panel leaving to a new home.
I had plans to build it as a COE panel truck but it was way down the project list, so to get some cash flow for the other projects she had to go.
good news is the guy is a mopar guy so it will be mopar powered
the way all mopars should be...

so now I will order some much needed parts for the 35 PU I'm building, then finish the race truck and radical COE and so on and so on...

now I can get the parts to finish my 35 PU
440 powered

then I really need to finish up my race truck

then I want to finish up the radical COE

then finish up the 35 dodge COE car hauler

ron, i know you are like me. you need more things to do and less time to do 'em in. i'm glad i only got 2 projects of my own, but i gotta quit taking on other projects for friends and family ! i'm glad the panel is going to a good home and will be properly powered ! up

Yeah I was happy when the guy said no way would he ever think about putting a chevy in it. he was very happy when he picked it up.
its on a dakota chassis that just needs to be shortened about 12".

I ordered a bunch of parts today for the 35 PU.
so I should be able to get some progress done soon. up

ron, i got the same steering joints for my humpback as you have. how sloppy are they on your box splines ? when i made the flats for the double "d"'s on my stainless rod, i made 'em .002 smaller than the opening in the joints. they fit super nice. but on the rack splines, they seem kind of loose. i'm sure i can tighten up the pinch bolt enough, but it seems the bolt may gauld up just by snugging it up, and i'm not ready for final assembly and anti-seize yet. i'm thinking i may just use a big c-clamp and a couple of blocks of wood to put a big squeeze on them to help bring the split closer together to help the bolt threads out a little. any thoughts ? your making some good progress there ! and you are also using one of my favorite tricks for mocking up a radiator hose for shape and size ! up

haven't really tightened them up yet but they seam like they will be ok when i tighten them up, I'll have to see.
I have them on my race truck and tightened them up and they feel fine to me...
