Doors for my 37 Plymouth Pickup Question.

Doors for my 37 Plymouth Pickup Question. - 07/07/14 04:42 AM

It appears after some research the the drivers door on my 37 is actually a 36 door (the inner structure is different and my passenger side is the original 37 door. I have found a set for $1100 and that set is actually the opposite of mine. It is a 37 drivers door and a 36 passenger. Do you think if I buy the set and pull the 36 door off my truck and then try to sell the matching 36 pair I can recover my money? All doors are in good shape with very little rust.

Personally I think you'd be pretty hard pressed to find the guy doing a build needing the doors and willing to spend that kind of money for them......especially if the outer skins are the same between 36 and 37.

These doors fit 36-38, it's just that the 36 has a different inner structure, I already made the deal and am in no hurry to sell the extra set of doors I will have, I can wait and get my price for them. These doors are not easy to find.

a friend needed a missing 36 door and paid $300 for a rusted and damaged one----so badly damaged the inner panel had to cut off so the door skin could be hammered back into shape----yeah and he was glad to get it at the time....

I would never have guessed they'd be in demand or that expensive.

Good 68-70 b body doors regularly go for $300 each, add 30 more years and way rarer part so double that price is not out of line.

I know the Chrysler guys don't care for it but it's a small block Chevy with a GMC 671 and two 600 Holley's.

I think he put the Chevy motor in it, I bought mine with the 302 Ford in it and I plan on changing it out for a Mopar motor eventually

that's the big difference, buying a mopar with a brand X engine in it and wanting it with a mopar.
or building a mopar and putting a brand X in it.

I think chevys are just great "IN A CHEVY"

or a odd car like a willys, austin or an anglia
but I still would use a mopar in those cars because I like mopars
