Yeh, its mine- Mopar came up a little short in this time period, this style was first introduced in 1948 by Hudson, Merc followed in 1949 I think, Hudson kept it till 1954 - Merc dropped it earlier-1952?? The Merc. is more popular but I never thought Mercs had anything over Hudson on this style.

Here is a Plymouth that was done back in the 50's by Barris, they are not common at all. mostly Mercs and Fords

They do a lot of work on those Mercury's to make them look like the Hudson looked from the factory.

A Hudson is in the Mopar family, sort of. Hudson turned into Nash, Nash turned into Rambler, Rambler turned into AMC and AMC got bought up by Chrysler, I think..... Gene

Lots of people selling cars and trucks on ebay are very proud of their stuff, and its not just on ebay either. There is often a big gap between what people are trying to sell stuff for and what buyers are willing to paying for that stuff. Gene

Neater than this?

Looks like a real nice Hudson with some 1951 Hudson tail lights. You sure that thing is a 53? A 53 had wrap around tail lights near the bumper. Could be a custom sled?

I guess you are assuming I bought it from someone , I built it . heres the proof - I like those tail lites better -They are from a 1950 Pace Maker parts car I used . The 53 lite housings were all rusted out -which is common

That is one fine custom Hudson. I have had about 10 of the Hudsons and even raced 2 of them in the old AHRA optional classes. They were fun to race the 1/4 mile in and it was even more fun running heads up against some Mustangs, Dusters and Camaros and beating them. That old 308 FlatHead Hudson ran pretty good. Next car was a Hemi Belv. in ss/da. Good job on you Hudson, and good pictures too.
