39-47 truck, anybody ever extend doors?

39-47 truck, anybody ever extend doors? - 12/12/08 03:14 PM

The more I study my 41 dodge truck project, the more the rockers bug me.

If I just cut the rockers off, the overall proportions will be wrong. I think the doors need to be more ford-like and extend closer to the bottom of the cab/running boards.

Has anyone done this or seen it done? (lower the door sills and drop the door bottom)

I took 2" off the bottom of squattie . Ron...

From memory (understand I'm getting old) what your after is like Dodge did with the big trucks, say 1 1/2 ton. Maybe a guy could just use a set of doors from a big truck?

Least that was how the 48 & up cabs were done.....Gene
