Model A Cowl - 12/02/08 03:16 AM

I know its not Mopar but itll be powered by a 318/904 and have a 60 Mopar Square steering wheel. But anyway I noticed a cowl in my niebors yard a month ago(even though Ive lived here for 2yrs)and asked him about it a couple days ago. He gave it to me. Its a 28/29 Model A sedan/coupe or pickup. Not sure but I will be making a Roadster pickup with it.

Nice. Is it going to be a real Olds motor or a chevy? Great job.

Re: Model A Cowl - 12/05/08 01:26 AM

well, you caught us ! i got those olds valve covers from hawaii and they fit perfectly over a small block cover. just weld a couple of studs to the cover and weld up the breather & fill holes, and done. the olds gasket hides it all. he also got a set of those repo ram exhaust manifolds, polished stainless, from speedway motors. i am going to fab up a breather/pvc system for the intake so it won't look like either motor, and all the accessory brackets & the motor will be olds green. sure will look good ! we are using the small block because he got a fresh rebuild motor/trans combo free ! i guess ya can't complain too much on the cost......

I have a Model A Roadster project in the works right now, Chevy 283/T5 5 speed.

I built a Model A Coupe with a 383 Mopar/A-833 OD 4 speed a couple summers ago. Here's a picture:
