Help figuring out my compression ratio - 11/27/11 02:55 AM

I was hoping someone might be able to tell me what the compression ratio on my motor would be and if it will run on pump gas.
440 30 over stock stroke and rod length.
OOTB standard port EZ with L2295 pistons
10.711 deck height
Thanks in advance for any help.

11.89 : 1 if you use .039" gaskets and the the heads are 75 cc. It's a tad high for pump gas, but it will run. For how long depends on if you can keep it out of detonation. I'd rather see flat tops in there.

Thanks for the reply I thougth that it would be up there but didnt think it would be that high. Any idea if I went to a thinker head gasket like .044 or .051 if that would lower it much?

Go to United Machines(KB, Kieth Black, Silv-o-lite) pistons web site and click on calculators and click on compression ratio, plug the different head gaskes trhicknesses in along with the other required information and see what it specs. out for you

Another good engine calculator is on summitracing's website. Search for pistons, click on one (seriously, almost any piston in there) and at the bottom it'll have a compression calculator. Works pretty good and their website is pretty good about posting all the specifications of the pistons they sell.
