Got a '64-'69 NHRA Rulebook?

Got a '64-'69 NHRA Rulebook? - 11/13/11 09:59 PM

I'm curious where a 426 Street Wedge (365HP) '64 Savoy 2-seat wagon would fit in Stock. It's part of the nostalgia theme for this project, and I'm thinking C or D would be about right.
I know Tritak & Morgan & some of the other early B wagon guys ran A/SA, C/SA, and also some SS classes with the same car back then, but obviously some of those classes were run in Max Wedge configuration.
Thanks for any help.

Found classes on the Colesy-Junior Stock Forum; man, they bounced around a lot in different years!
All I need to know now is what NHRA had as a shipping weight, as apparently they weren't factoring the HP back then, they just used advertised HP. Wonder if they used the weight the mfrs told them as well?

Factory published shipping weight for a '64 Savoy with a V8 was 3205.

I have every NHRA rulebook from 1959 to present with a few doubles. There's no way I can acess them today. All my stuff is packed away

B5 Bee, is that weight for the 2-door sedan or a 2-seat wagon?

The current NHRA classification guide shows 3654 pounds for the 1964 Plymouth Savoy 2seat wagon. I tried to attach the Excel spreadsheet, but it wouldn't attach.

Thanks, that seems more accurate for a wagon.
Haven't found the '64 classifications yet.
In '65, it would have been classed B/S or B/SA.
In '66 & '67, C/S - C/SA
In '68, E/S - E/SA
In '69, F/S - F/SA
In '70, G/S - G/SA
This assumes the published shipping weight never changed, which I think is a reasonable assumption.

You may also find some usuable info in the big Direct Connection book that Larry Shepherd use to put together. It had a couple of Classification Guide type chapters.

I've managed to save only two issues, '65 and '69

Whoops, that was 2dr sedan.
6P wagon - 3495
9P wagon - 3600

These were the factory published weights, what they supply to NHRA may be different.
