I'm not a fan of that Carb, and the tire is a bit tall. The rest looks good.

If you're lucky it will tickle the 11's, most likely a 12 second car though as it sits.

Really depends on how it hooks. I'd guess 12.32 @114 mph

12.80-13.0 w/ that carb. 12.40-12.50 w/ a holley. Good luck. Open exhaust or closed?

Assuming the suspension works and it's in a good state of tune it should run mid to high 11's.

Once you get things dialed in, I would say 11's.

BTW that cam is ground with zero advance, advancing it 3-4 degrees may benenfit your ET.

Throwing in actual hands on expereieces I will say mid to high 13s. Sory for not stroking your ego, BTW what brand and style tires are you going to use at the track? I'm basing my guess on some good hooking street and strip tires When are you going to run the car and which track? Eddy makes several versions of the 750, a smog carb and a performance version , which one do you have?

I ran a similar combo in my Dart years ago. Car weighed 3470 with driver, had sportsman pro tires and 430 gear. Car would run 12.90- 13.00 depending on the weather.

I will venture with that carb a et of 13.2-13.5 that carb and tall ass tires are going to take the wind out of your sails. Get the tire to 26 tops and or more gear 4.10s are great but you will have them around a 3.55 overall with 29 tall tires. Get a Holley dbl pumper, shorter slick and look for 12.0-12.3

Re: What can I expect for E.T. - 11/12/11 01:36 AM

You guys are low ballin it, If that car & the combo (assumeing) the alt. isn't exstream & your not a heavy weight doesn't see 11s i'd junk it , I was told MANY MANY times that my 71 Dart with a junkyard 360 magnum, bolt-ons, very small re-ground cam, 3.73 gears, 11" 2800 stall & a 650dp would never see a 12.99 period, 1st. pass letting off just past the 1000ft. it ran 12.70, After that run it was a solid 12.5 car & 105 with 1.80 60fts. shifting at 5100, this was at 24-2600 DA, race weight was un-known. 3 things that need to be changed IMO, then like mentioned, advance the cam.

Run at least a prepped 750dp., Even an 850dp will work good.
Install 4.56 gears & a 28" tire, With that cam & a 340 don't be surprized if you need to shift at or a bit over 7K RPM.
I would go with a 46-4800 Flash stall.

For now to keep cost down, i'd run 27" Slicks or QTPs.

I'll say once you get thinks in order & weight & Alt. are on the lower side.

high 11s

Thanks everyone. I forgot to mention this is a street car. I think anything steeper than 4.10's will be to much for the street. It's a 750 Performance carb. Thanks again.

I ran all over in my 73 Swinger, had a built up .060" 360 & 4.56 gears, 255/60/15s, they are 27" tall, It cruised really nice & was torquey as hell, I dropped in a set of 3.23s i had for kicks, god what a pig it turned into, so the 4.56s went back, Even if its a Performer 750 its still an eddy, You will benifit more from a holley DPer. Unless you plan on doing alot of highway cruising, drop in a steeper gear, 4.56s are nothing for a street cruiser.

Well, we narrowed it down to mid 11's - high 13's

A better carb would show cheap and easy gains. One thing that would really be a nice change (but not cheap) would be a 904 transmission with a low gear set. The 4.10's with 29" tires will allow you to cruze on the highway comfortably but the low gear set will launch like you had 4:56's. In addition to significant gains from better 60' times, you will pick up a tenth or two just from the improved efficiency of the 904.

How the car runs will depend alot on the condition of the shortblock and heads. "Ported heads" can mean many things.

I just bought a Quick flow 1050 carb. That should be plenty to feed it. I'm hoping for 11.90's or low 12's. Thanks everyone.
