I looked in the old posts and could not find anything on the e3 spark plugs. Does any one use them?

Why use them... with a cut back ground strap its
proven that they make more power... WHY have 3 ground
straps blocking the flame front

I`ve read their claim and also read an article in circle track magazine. It seamed to recommend them for stock engines but not one word for race engines. I agree with you. The flame kernel ignites the fuel and the still travels the same speed no matter if it has three grounds or one. I have to index the plugs to clear the domes much less two more grounds.I just thought I would ask.
Quote:Snake oil, I got some if you want to buy some There is no magic in car parts, usually According to a old time mechanic that raced on Muroc dry lakes back in the 1920 and 1930 before WW 2, he said that all the ideas had been developed before he started dry lake racing and any new invention was a repetion of those things already developed, that was in 1966 or so and I doubted him then I have discovered over the years he had a very valid point Not much new has been invented since the early 1900 on cars, motors and car parts There has been progress due to new materials, different ways of using the technoligys Progress is ongoing Some of the spark plugs in the old cars, Pre 1920, had multiple grong straps, same thing on airplane spark plus, massive, multiple ground elctrodes and the new tech.(1960 era development, I think ) mini Platunum ground wires in airplane spark plugs the picture is one of my old airplane Champion massive ground spark plugs, those plugs where first used in 1920 or 1930 in Lycoming air cooled 540 C.I. opposed six cylinder motors that had 8.5 to 1 compression and where limited(governed) to 2700 RPM max. this was with dual spark plugs per cylinders and independent dual magnetos The ground electrode will corrode over time, usually you can close them up several times before they become to worn(there is a FAA spec to use) to reset and reuse These are gapped at .016 and require regapping when they get to .019, some of the old timers on a budget gap theres at .014 and run them until they get to .020+ before regappingThe center ground electrode will wear and elomgate also, I don't know if you can see that elongation in this picture
