After breaking the ring gear off the flexplate in qualifying, working his way all the way to the finals is a good accomplishment. I give him credit for a good showing and working to get there.

Re: Congrats Al Aguire - 11/08/11 04:00 AM

Thanks guys. Long weekend for sure 50 Super Streeters is about as big of a field I have been in. I had the race and gave it back. one bad decision cost me a Wally again. This is the first time I made a mistake to cost me a Wally, previous shots I was just flat out beat and had no where to go. Was on an 11.06 run and did not trust the numbers..Live and learn. Always a bridemaid never a bride I guess.

Ouch... I was wondering why both you guys ran 11.10ish. And I saw your 1/8 mile was real close to your earlier round run (11.05+).

Re: Congrats Al Aguire - 11/08/11 04:42 AM

My 1000' number would have been an 11.067 or so...

Oh yeah dont belives those DA numbers from 1320 go. We had 2400-2700 all day.

The real thorn in my side. Had I just made all the D7 races and not won a single round I would have finished second in the Division...Grrrrrrrr

Re: Congrats Al Aguire - 11/09/11 01:54 AM

Congrats, tough to get to the final, for sure. Went to Indy one year and they decided to run S/ST first round without notice late Saturday afternoon, many guys had left the track to go to dinner or had started having adult beverages. (I won't say which category I belonged to...)

Re: Congrats Al Aguire - 11/09/11 07:30 AM

Thanks again guys. Maybe next time I can report on something happier like actually taking home the Wally.

For now it is time to concentrate on the other car for the SCSN race....

Re: Congrats Al Aguire - 11/09/11 11:55 AM

Nice Job Al I had qualifying on and then first round as there were alot of points battles going on, but working on the car and listening, I must have missed you out there.

And a runner up means you were number 2 out of 50. Top 4%! NICE JOB

How would that have been possible?? Are you saying that just the entry to all (what...6?) D7 races would have earned more than Adams' 289 points???

Super Street

Position Driver Points Events
01 Ryan Herem 397 7
02 Dave Adams 289 8
03 Chris Bracey 280 7
04 John Bycroft 278 5
05 Harlan Tucker 258 8
06 Jeff Jackson 247 6
07 Nik Downing 225 5
08 Bob Richmond 214 5
09 David Akard 203 7

Re: Congrats Al Aguire - 11/11/11 07:03 AM

Well not exactly, my math was a bit fuzzy when I posted that and the totals were not correct..Now that they are I woudl have been in 6th plac had I just shown up to three more races and done nothing but pull up for first round.

We can claim points at five divisional races a year. So had I simply showed up for three more races I would have earned 90 points which would have put me at 247. Each round win is worth 10-13 points depending on what round and how many entries were there. So to clarify I would have had to have won an additional four rounds in the remaining three races to get into second. I feel pretty confident I could have done that even attending the minumum of five races. We can attend as many as we like in any division but can only claim 5 for points. That is the reason this last divisional of the year tends to be bigger than most.

So I feel pretty confident that I could have caught and passed Dave for second. But it is a woulda coulda shoulda thing at this point. I had planned to attend at least five divisionals this year but that did not work out. Had the Air Force not moved us and made it impossible to attend three(Fontana, Bakersfield and Fallon)of the races, I woudl have liked my chances to finish pretty close to the top. Since I missed those I chose to just pass on Infineon as well, would have just made me feel worse now being that much closer. Heck it is a guarantee I would have been top 10.

Now to ad salt to the wound even further looks like the cars will get parked here soon. Found out yesterday that I am likely loosing my job in January. This due to cuts in defense spending, and being new to this base I am likely going to be the odd man out. So if this happens, which appears highly likely I will park the cars.

Hope that clears it up better for you.

Thanks again guys. Hopefully we can represent Mopars well at the Street Car Supernationals this weekend in Hot Street. We will do our best. Oh yeah the other will be running bracket 1 as well but with a new man behind the wheel. Hopefully he does well with it.

Re: Congrats Al Aguire - 11/22/11 02:27 AM

Al -
I haven't been to this site for three years so I'm not up to date with what you race. Glad to see that I'm not the only NHRA dot 90 guy here. Congrats on your race. I can't tell you how many rounds I have lost in the past 10 years by making a teeny little error. I know it doesn't make you fell any better but I'm sure you WILL get that Wally!
Ken Bowers SG 1160
P.S. NICE CAR!!

Re: Congrats Al Aguire - 11/22/11 08:58 PM

B1Ken WOW good to hear from you. Talk about a name from the past. Great to see you back around here again.

Thanks for the compliment on the car. We try to keep it nice. Just running it in S/ST for now. Maybe someday we will put a big motor in it. But running S/ST in the mid to high 150's sure is fun. Been thinking of going to a bigger bullet and running S/G but those are shark infested waters for sure. As for the Wally, I sure hope so.
