im wanting to know , at what speeds does it start showing down force? and how much? does its drag ever show an ill effect on e.t ?

unless you plan on running 175mph+ I cant see it making a lot of difference.wings create down force/drag.

Several years ago, there was a research on 'wings' and most where found to be a et scrubber on most,
I don't remember the speed ex , but it was somewhere above the 120 mark before it started adding down force to the car until then it was a drag and took more hp to start over comming that effect.
All the big fuel guys have to have them in order to 'hook the car on the big end of the track, but , if you notice they get to play with the degree and height depend on type of track , and temp air density
so for the big boys it is a tunning device

im really interested in the first 60 feet
a 1.25 60 foot = 52 mph i was wodering if, say at 25-30-mph a wing could produce enough force to help hook a small tire?

NO I am a comercial pilot as well as a drag racer with freinds who have cars that go fast, wings start to come into play on rear downfirce above 150 MPH usually, if they are set up correctly The numbers I remember being bantered around on the wing angles where from .75 to 1.5 degrees up angle from the track surfaces at speed Another thing that comes into play is the front end ride hieght and angle and air dams, if no air dams and the front end is pointed up into the air stream all bets are off They don't want air going under the front of the car lifting it up at speeds

here's a good example. i have a customer with a mid 60's Nova that was running 10.0 e.t.'s complaining that the back end of the car was skating all over above 120 MPH. he installed a wing and the car is now very stable at the top end. no other changes. it's also quicker with the wing than without.

That surprises me wouldn't think that is fast enough to make a difference my Duster running 9.7xx at 140 was rock solid with no wing.Only time it would wiggle was if you tried to run under 11psi in the slicks.

yes, but the Nova is lighter and has a very short wheel base.

I can tell you that we have had to give it more of an angle or pitch to keep weight on the rear tires.

If that helps

the answer to that question is NO, it will not help!
but depending on the wing, give you that real 'COOL' look lol
