What would be the recommended preload on a stock Mopar 360 roller lifter? This is a street / strip application.

yup. I'd go same as any other lifter. a little more is better than a little less.

To keep them quiet or to make more power?

On the Dakota R/T Forums, 3/4 to 1 turn past 0 lash is the standard. Mine have been "shimmed", so I set them like a solid roller, with a feeler gauge.

Dave, that's the universal standard on adjustable rockers. but it doesn't hurt anything to go tighter.

tighter won't make more power because it's hydraulic. not like a solid where tighter lash will increase lift/duration. it does however ensure that you don't run out of lifter "cushion"

as long as you have good geometry, it shouldn't matter if you go 3/4 of a turn or 1.5 turns. as long as you don't bottom the lifter out, or leave it too shallow, or screw up the geometry.
