I'm not sure what sizes they come in, but I have the M/T ET streets on the front of my Valiant. They offer them in a 6 or 8 ply for heavier cars.

I just run a standard radial tire. 215/70-15's I think are the size but I will double check when I go out to the garage. Ron

Ron, you're running radial slicks too. AJ has bias tires on the back. That's what his problem is. He needs a bias front runner on the street to ride/handle better. At least that's what I took from his post, lol.

Re: street strip front tires. - 10/15/11 02:12 PM

Yes you are right. When I had the Hoosier QTP bias tires out back it did not handle as well. Thats why I went to radial slicks as it handles way better. Forgot about that. Ron

my car doesn't weigh as much as yours ..I use BFG's Comp T/A's in 215/60x15 and Drag T/A's in rear 275/60x15

handles like on rails and great traction on the street....never had good luck w/Drag T/A's on track, but the fronts are great

this will give you an idea on the fronts..

as you follow the gentle curvature of the rims, you can see there is ample contact points for grip...

Hoosier 31" Quick time pro's out back and Firestone Indy 500's (P225/70R15's) on 6" aluminum wheels up front. 4000 car. Handles great @ 115.

Here's the Summit link for the M/T front runners
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTT-3007/
I'm running these: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOR-17026/

From personal experience I'd stay away from mixing bias and radial even at the track

those are pretty small tires, idont know how long they would last on the street with my big pig.

With Bias ply DOT's out back and a heavy B-body i'd be inclined to use something like this :

Hoosier makes some sizes big enough for full grown cars.

I run 165 80 r15s on my 65 Belvedere with Mickey n50 bias rear.My kid runs 215 75 r15s on the 62 300 with Mickey L60 15s bias rears.Never any problems with either and both get lots of street and strip miles.I had Mickey bias on the fronts of both cars. They were total garbage.Even at the track they were all over the place. Now I can let the wheel go at 120 and it stays straight.Rocky

Re: street strip front tires. - 10/16/11 09:50 AM

I used a 215/75/D/15 which is a bias tire that is very close to the same size as a Moroso 7.10x15.

Re: street strip front tires. - 10/17/11 04:30 AM

My preference has always been the Moroso bias ply and 29+ inches tall.Out back are 16.5 X 31's.I prefer the bias all the way around. The gets driven upwards to 2000 miles a year and 4 or 5 trips to the track
