dakota procharger 360 Cam? - 10/15/11 08:56 AM

hi have a dakota whit a procharger ,street and strip still need to pass emissions looking for a cam that wake up the engine and dont is to bad at idle to set up the emmissions (HC)
still need something thats work whit future modīs like ,intake ,headers ,bigger throttle body ,etc

the only mod now is a ported stock kegger and ported rhs heads
a will make a better ex this winter whit the camchange

got as few recomendations ,dont mind a costomgrind
best so far is 8.68 1/8
a lot of tech only pick something direct from the catalog

here is a few cams

Comp Cams recommends staying at a 114 lsa.

The smallest cam for a 360 that would be better than stock would be a 200/206 .504/.512 114 lsa. It would be a super strong torque profile and is really a 318 torque cam. It would have 27-degrees of overlap. Overlap at .050 duration is: -25
A 206/212 .512/.512 114 lsa would still be a strong torque cam but is better suited for a 360. This cam will have 33-degree of overlap. Overlap at .050 duration is: -19
A great 360 boost cam with further modifications would be 218/224 or 224/230, but it is doubtful they would pass emissions with 45-degrees and 54-degrees of overlap Overlap at .050 duration is: -7 and -1
In addition,

A 212/218 .512/.512 114 Overlap at .050 duration is: -13

216/224 .506/.506 114 Overlap at .050 duration is: -8

You need to call Bullet Cams.

The comp cams recommendations won't take advantage of your ported rhs heads in my opinion.

Most of them will be very slow without a better torque converter.
A 210/220 @ .050 will be slow out of the hole without some more stall speed.

Precision Industries makes lockup converters that are great for your application and will help you get the most out of your combo by allowing you to use more cam...for the street too.

I would think you would want some more lift, while still keeping less overlap. More Duration will make more power with that supercharger.

Emissions...I really cant provide any guidance there. It's safe to assume anything more than the stock cam is likely to cause emissions issues....but leave that to the cam experts.

I would call a GOOD cam grinder and see what they have to say.
And if you decide you need more converter, call Precision Industries.

If you didnt want to change anything other than the cam, go with the 206@.050.

I'd spend the money on the other mods you want first...Then the cam.

The kegger intake is really holding you back, ported or not. I ran a stock one, ported one and went to a M1 and it was a huge difference. IMO, that is the first thing I would change.

Ok, change the cam and still have the restriction of the intake limiting your rpms.

When is the last time you changed a Cam???

With that comment not too recently. Intake has to come off to change the cam. And the Springs are about 1.5hrs per head.

and to answer your question

1-800-BulletCams or 1-800-LSMengineering!!!

Either company can get you what you need.

custom bullet cam with the springs they advise, along with an m1 4bbl and a bigger TB. Install them all at the same time. Why waste the energy/time of bolting a ported kegger back on?

one thing that you U.S. residents do not have to think about is freight customs tax etc.
an intake of $ 600 + shipping aprox $ 100 + 35% customs + tax total
$ 945 when I have it at home at the door
Therefore, I have think most hp for money and what you can do and grow later
a intake or a throttle body i could prob get used somwhere
