NHRA Silly Season.... - 10/13/11 12:23 AM

1st rumor with Jeggie

Coughlin's first Pro Stock title came while driving an Oldsmobile and the last three in cars with the bow-tie badge, but don't look for him to return driving a Chevrolet. If we were placing a bet, we'd give the inside line to Coughlin driving a Mopar next season.

2nd with someone else

McGaha/Nickens going fulltime NHRA Pro Stock racing in 2012?

One of the Agent’s Texas sources called to say that the word going around the Lone Star State is that Chris McGaha, who got a taste of NHRA Pro Stock racing by renting a ride from Richard Freeman’s Oklahoma-based Elite Motorsports, is going to field a new Jerry Haas “lightweight” Mopar Pro Stock in 2012 and has signed up premier Mopar engine builder David Nickens.

According to the Agent’s source the McGaha team is just waiting for the car to come out of the paint shop so they can start testing. [10/10/2011]

I don't recall that Jeg's or Jeggie ever ran Fords, so based on their Challenger, maybe they'd run a Mopar. But Ford might give them more money to run a Mustang, and all of their PS history is with GM, so it's a lottery. One could check with the various engine builders and maybe figure it out...

The word i get from the indide is that MOPAR gives AJ all the parts.

Then AJ distributes them as he pleases.

I know the motors are not factory, but i guess something has to come from MOPAR.

And i have talked to a few PS drivers who run a GM.

Most of them would be thrilled to run a MOPAR!

Yeah I'd rate him right up there with Eicke in the pro stock ranks.
