gasoline smell - 10/12/11 12:17 AM

My '74 Challenger smells like gas even though I cannot find any leaks. I have a 5 gal poly fuel cell in the trunk and run -8 line to the regulator and -6 line to the carb. Would an aluminum fuel cell prevent the gas smell better than poly? Should I run solid line up to the regulator instead of braided? I have an attached garage, and I hate my house smelling like fuel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Its often the AN fittings or tank vent. AN swivel fittings, especially the low cost ones, can leak just a little when not pressurized.

The tank has a vent.... they ALL do, so it could be
the vent vapors your smelling
EDIT
Or it could be the fuel in the carb evaporating....
if you can shut the pump off and run the carb out of
fuel when you park it in there to see if its the carb
