Ripped a 1.391 60 FT with Vac Sec Carb

Ripped a 1.391 60 FT with Vac Sec Carb - 10/10/11 03:25 AM

Probably not a big deal to the faster guys, but last night I had a new best 60 ft. time on my same old junk. Two time runs were 1.44 in the left lane, 6.57 ET in the 1/8th, 1.43 right lane with a 6.55.

Ran a dragster in the first round, dialed 6.54, car hooked hard! It normally picks up the fronts a couple inches, but when it hits hard you can feel some slack in the steering wheel. Looked over at about 600 ft., no dragster yet. Dragged the brakes a bit and went through 6.530, dragster dumped me and won. I had room to win, went first .036.

This car has a 440 with iron heads and a single vac. secondary carb. Phoenix tires have 184 runs on them.

It's the tires,,,when those Firestone/Phoenix start putting off brown smoke(cords),they really hook..

Similar set up to mine, except i've got a bit more hp and weight.
Your heading says 1.39 but your description says a 1.43 best.

everyone knows that 590 cam is no good. none of the mopar performance cams are any good at all. it's impossible for anything to run any good at all with that junk. heh heh.

I would attribute the new 60 to that very trick mounted MSD .
