I have not driven this car in 21 years & it is time.I started about 6 months ago. I cannot post pics on here as they are too big.I know everyone will want pics but until someone teaches me.sorry. I am to the point of needing wheels.now 4 poll 1 What wheels. I have slots but running into backspacing issues.bigger question is I cant make up my mind!HELP PLEASE!

Had Cragers on my 70 Hemi Cuda....yeah there pretty heavy....but I loved the look....especially with the Torr Red

Also love the steelie look in matching finish.....probably would go that route today with correct dogdish caps.....but hey I was only 18 when I bought it

Yup I know your car very well. my buddy owned it for a while. Mark Dumer...I just dont want a modern wheel. The only big differences are disc brakes all around. and it has cal trac susp. full interior with console.Oh & a 10 point chromoly cage.I will start adding pics soon.from the last few months.I am sending it out for the base pearl white paint.I will add the crazyness when it comes back.

I hated the Keystone back then and still do, I ran cragar ss skinnies on the front with slotted mags out back. Now I like the cragar super tricks all around, a little in the late seventies but popular back in that era.

I LOVED the Keystone Klassics, then and now. S&M USUALLY had them until the Super Tricks came out. Cragar S/S was so common, almost like Shivies. Slots were even more common unless they were Halibrands.

Wrong Even though Keystone was a sponsor Ronnie had Halibrands because Keystone did not make a light race wheel. The the car before the Super Tricks.

I can't compete with Fred on S&M facts, figures, parts and cars. He probably has Ronnie's old Kleenex wrapped up in boxes and stored in a fireproof safe.

I corrected my earlier statement based on Hemi Fred's proof. Maybe I should have changed it to OCCASSIONALLY because I know Fred has millions of pictures of S&M cars. I stopped being a Sox fan when he wouldn't come out of the trailer to sign an autograph at a match race in St. Pete circa 1972. Landy was quite friendly and had a large group of fans around him that day. I became more of a Landy fan that day despite his preference for Cragar S/S wheels.

Anywho, here is an S&M car with Keystones.

Cragar Super Tricks I had some on my old NHRA stocker, even had them polished I had to run the Cragar SS the first year (1974 or 1975 ) and was allowed to go to the lighter Super Tricks the next year I even ended up with one pair of rear ten inch wide Super Tricks that where red anadized, they looked real nice on my white car

These might be Kragar Klassic Klones. It looks like a Cragar cap on the wheels.

More Paper Tigger shots. This is a mix of wheels. I think Stewart gave me this photo!

Anyway, S&M cars and Keystones are indelibly linked in my poor old brain despite facts to the contrary. S&M Roadrunner. I wonder if this is the one Stewart bought from them?

Not a vintage picture, so no proof on Keystone useage. But it seems like the original post was something about wheels on a Cuda. I've sort of run this thread off the road and into a ditch. Sorry about that Chief!

Re: 1970 SS/DA cuda build with pole questions - 09/12/11 03:58 AM

I was starting wonder where this was going. As you stated it is about a 70.I dont want anyone to think that I am making a clone of any car.this car was my dads car we got in 1975. I got it from him in 1989. it has been sitting since 1990.I have a real pro stock car.not a cuda.but I love the nostalgia racing & what better car to do.(just my opinion)This car had slots on it then...my mom had a 70 challenger that had keystones on it then.....so it is a tough choice.

But Thanks for getting the pics flying.I have a shot of the lead zepplin in color from the rear & pass. side if you would like it...

Thanks Tom

Check out this thread I started about SS/DA cars late last year, there are heaps of great pics

https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...part=1&vc=1

I kind of moved towaard the Pro Stock look with a dual plug, magnesium tunnel rammed 484 Hemi, '70 Barracuda with the old style Keystone wheels, not the new Cragar made ones.

E-mail them to you're self, it will ask you if you want to make the smaller. Then save them to a folder or desk top.

I have been watching your post with the SS/DA cudas.good stuff. you are later in 70 than me.I am rinning a rat roaster & shaker.also running a 9.0 slick on a 8 in. rim.....I am more into the day 1 early 70 stuff. But I like the later stuff also.I am leaning towards the keystones.I kind of have been since the beginning.I have slots but just not the look I want...I guess I am in wheel denile.

I have my pics in a folder but am I understanding you right to email & put them in a new folder? Thanks for the info...
