SB p5 p7 w8 so many and so few choices - 08/27/11 04:49 PM

I run a sb ford but one day will build a turbo sbm. I have a buddy who wants a pro charged sbm. But of us there are many choices on heads but not blocks. He needs better heads which leaves out the w8 stuff but needs more cubes that cuts out the p7 stuff now. So the p5 would be great but same way not many block choices. I would like to build a small cubic ci turbo motor which p7 would be great but I am not sure how the open deck will work. I could also get p7 stuff dirt cheap but I am not sure how if they are coming out with a shorter deck in the xr block.
If money was no option the billet p5 and billet block for them would be great.
I guess my question is should I buy p7 stuff and wait or wait to see if they come out with new p5 stuff or g3 race hemi stuff

My personal opinion is the P5 but don't have a clue on the block.
The P5 is THE BEST smallblock cylinder head.
My second choice is the G3 dollar for dollar the best bang.
Limitation are head bolts no extra provisions.

P7 with an EEI block. The heads are still around. Many have upped their price considerably. I see ads for one set of heads that are four times higher than what I got.

The block and crank isn't cheap. Ritter has tons of R5P7 stuff. But, again the block aint cheap.

P5's with a billet block to handle all the stroke you want. That would be the ultimate strategy.

Sometimes I don't understand Chrysler.
You have possibly the best smallblock cylinder design you can get. I think it is a small block version of the A99 and they can it.
You could do some serious damage with it.
Their popping out new production cylinder heads all the time.

If the class you run allows it, you'd be money ahead to build a bb low deck stroker with predator heads.
