Yeah and as soon as you get one they come out with more cheaper.
I,m in the same boat. I feel the pressure.
I may try to make one will probably spend x3 the amount in time and energy to get something that doesn't work so well and looks like a dogs breakfast.

Re: DP intake manifold NS1 - 08/24/11 03:49 PM

813 is a 392 carbureted crate engine intake. It is the predecessor to the DP manifold I posted about earlier. Same configuration as DP manifold but no injector holes, so not a true DP manifold.

I got one in the basement I'll use someday

Buy them all from Indy if they'll give you a deal, keep one and sell the others.

The drag pak intake is P5155288. It's set up to be vendor ship direct, so nobody can see any stock floating around on it. It's an 'order and wait for it' part. I don't think the vendor can ship any at the moment....it's not the part, it's something on the business side.

Somebody high up the food chain is trying to figure out what the holdup is. Will post more when I know more.

Re: DP intake manifold NS1 - 08/24/11 05:26 PM

It's actually more complicated than that lol

DP intake and gasket package is P5155288

DP intake only is P5155184

Note: don't use the OE gaskets with a carburetor, the
O rings were made for FI and can't take direct exposure to gasoline. They swell up and fail. Use paper gaskets with a carb.

I can remember asking John Donato at the 2008 Hemi Reunion if the new DP intake was going to look like the hi-rise carb manifold. He said I was crazy thinking it would be anything like the carb manifold and acted like I was completely stupid. That guy was a complete jerk everytime I talked to him. Looks pretty similar to me there John Boy!

Re: DP intake manifold (is not) NS1 - 08/25/11 07:52 PM

As said in the other thread: for now, the price has to be high because Mopar is currently paying big money to produce it. Later on I'm hoping the cost to produce it can be reduced, but that's going to take a ton of effort...for the forseeable future...."it is what it is".

One of my guys investigating it says he is fairly sure there is inventory on P5155184, and he feels it is safe to recommend customers order that part number.

The inventory is supposed to be at the packager's facility, it is not in any Chrysler warehouse, so it's not real easy to see it from the Detroit area or at any dealer.

It's not 100%, positively confirmed yet....however if I wanted one, at this time I would order P5155184. It has the best chance of showing up.

The gaskets are only $10.00 USA retail, per pair

Re: DP intake manifold (is not) NS1 - 08/26/11 12:28 AM

The price is Canadian so it falls under international and we all know what that is like. LOL
If memory serves me correctly the intake in US funds SHOULD list for a little lower than The DP intake.
Me thinking around 850.00
On another note. Heard a rumor, that they would be producing the head with extra head bolts?
