Say ... what size are you guys running on your stroker sb's . mine is a stroker crate 402 with 850 holley, choke tower cut off and bowl blended . pv's 45's , squirters 37 frt.& rear. 50 cc pumps , jet frt 80 rear jet 82 . big electric pump with 1/2" lines and fuel cell .msd 6al. dart runs 11.0's on motor 60 ft 1.50 . seems to run out of fuel on big end.. 6 pack sealed hood scoop.. maybe more jet for all that fresh forced air ? what do you all think.
Thanks !

Thanks Mike ! That's rockin ! Appears I'm alittle lean on fuel ... Hope to see a few more opinions .
I never did jet up when the scoop was installed.
what the theory that you should always keep the jet sizes close in number. to keep an even distribution of fuel in the cylinders. I see you run a big stagger in jet sizes.

Since you are running a PV you need about 8 jet sizes
difference between the PV side to the other ...
square jetting is for NON PV applications

What do the spark plugs "say"? What's your fuel pressure doing?
My 368" SB racecar (Duster) 850DP is 88 square, no PVs, .130 needles/seats, don't recall which shooters or pump cams off the top of my head. Milled choke horn, "6-pack" scoop. Footbrake car, 6000 stall, 904, 5.38s, 13x31 tire, stages @ 1600-2000 and hammered from there. Don't knw if any of that matches your combo.
Maybe you don't have enough fuel pump?

So mr P ,, you are saying I should be running eg. 80 frt jet and 88 rear jet size with pv's with that being 8 jet sizes apart ?
why then are the stock jets like 80 and 81 ?
i'm confused . I heard of to jet up 8 sizes if don't use pv's .

Fuel pressure is just under 7#'s with a 130gph electric..plugs look ... white and clean porclean , grey soot on first thread . strap color on bend . 34* total timing , 19* initial.msd 6al

Are you running a PV both front and back? You can
check the Holley web site for the stock jetting if
you know the model number

mr. p . I think you misunderstood what I said on my pv's . I have pv's in the pri and sec.
if that's the case I should still jet up the rear somemore to maybe 84-88. what do you think ?

Thats the difference... with 2 PVs you will jet close
to square... most guys dont run a PV in the secondaries...
just in the primaries so it will cruise better
EDIT
Also every engine is different BUT keep jetting up
till you get the best MPH ... if you get to a point
that you think they are too big you might want to
change to a larger needle and seat to make sure that
isnt the restricting point, if you feel that the fuel
supply system is up to par... run a fuel pressure
gauge so you can see it during the run... if its
holding good pressure and you have some pretty big
jets in it then I would change the needle and seats...
now days I just go with a bigger needle and seat
anyways, even on a new carb... (thats just me)

I'm running 79 frt and 89 rr ( front only 4.5 PV )in my 850 / 408 motor. Plugs always color good with mid way ground strap demarcation. You might want to consider dumping the sec side PV and just jetting up. It could make life easier.

Some booster info with the jetting would help make this post more user friendly.....
