holly dominator fuel pump - 08/20/11 09:48 PM

I have a 350 gph doinator fuel pump Im running on my duster with a 512 it was new when I installed it a few weeks ago pump has a problem blowing fuses.Im running a relay with a short run of 10 gauge wire and it eats 30 amp fuses.Tried to run pump today popped fuse instantly.Decided to try and figure out problem removed pump and completely dissassembled every thing looks good no sign of scuffing on pump rotor or houseing and motor alone runs fine reinstalled pump into houseing will not run even hooked directly to battery any body else have problems with these pumps maybe now I know why they dont make them anymore.Any insight would be greatly appreciated Im hopeing to not have to buy a new pump but Im thinking its inevitable. do you have access to a Ohm meter? you need to check the resistance across the 2 wires & to the body of the pump.

ohm readings are, between wires 0.0,pos to pump body no reading and grd to pump body around 2.0 I dont know what that means but motor does run fine with no pump attached.
