Quick reference card I recieved today (in my NHRA renewal) says anything over 150 mph or 9.99 and quicker must have a chute.

I think it is a new one. Surprised me since the only think I heard previously was the 150 mph rule.

Most of the 9.90 cars these days are going 160 or more.

Have a brake failure once at 150+ and you'll be glad there's a chute!

Ask me how I know.

Make sense for a car running on the stop but not an all out 9.90 car running @ 130mph

Lets see here. 150 mph 9.99 or faster

Having a EM brake no brainer...I rather have it then be looking for it in the sand pit

If you question it then you should have one or Two..

Your car is bad gasser and it would look awsome with two chutes..

Just reading from the most current information that I just recieved from the good ol NHRA. I know that 150mph used to be the rule, but it might have changed since they don't send out rule books anymore.

Brian no worries, that bad info has been out there for a few years. As to why they have been sending it out to folks who knows. Of course that dooes not mean some local track tech guy wont try to enforce it either....

Oh yeah the rulebook is now electronic. YOu can download a copy if you like.

The quick reference card also says that protective clothing expires every 5 years. I haven't looked into this, but I don't remember seeing that before. Not sure it's right or wrong??

-15 and -20 suits have a 5 year tag. Never seen a date tag on a -5.

That's what I thought as well. Maybe these quick reference cards are just junk?
