Anyone use Isky 8005A valve springs?

Can't beat the Isky 8005A springs, had them on my 451 & tons of passes on them

First, what retainers are you using? When a checked Summit for retainers with 1.110" OD inner spring, the selection was some of the more expensive retainers?
If I go with a 1.095" inner step, the Comp 748-16 is only $51.95 / set.

Anyhow, I am looking at the Comp XR286HR cam and they recommend the 925-16 dual springs or the 26120-16 beehive springs.

The Beehive springs would be nice, but the description says they are 0.590" max lift, and if I run a 1.7:1 rocker arm, my lift will be 0.617"

I was also looking at the Hughes HER3642BL cam which is the same 0.050" duration as the comp cam with a bit less lift, and narrower LSA, but costs $87 more than the comp cam, and the recommended valve springs are much stiffer, 185# closed, 505#@0.650" lift? That sounds pretty stiff for a hydraulic roller tappet cam?

I have them on a few engines. No reason to be afraid of them

451, Isky has retainers & locks for the 8005-A springs in 7 & 10 degree styles.

Great springs! I've been running them on my 440 for 10 yrs. now! Jeff@ Modern checked the pressures last year,and they still have plenty of life left in them! I run a Comp solid flat tappet and shift at 6500 at the track. On the street...frequent 6000rpm upshifts...solid as ever!

Set up correctly the Isky 8005A are a good spring, I shoot for 140 to 175 lbs on the seats and 325 to 375 lbs opened on most flat tappets(solid) and hydraulic or hydraulic roller cams for the street and strip use i've used many of them before switching to Comp Cams products Comp has a lot more choices on custom lobes and camshsafts, better R&D also

yes, no issues. They are pretty stout. Make sure they meet the cam makers recommendation.
