Rule of thumb:width of material from the pin to the end of the bar should be 1 and 1/2 times the diameter of the pin, minimumum would be distance equal to the pin diameter.

I beleive they were morrison, not sure, my friend who is fabricater ordered and isntalled, has never been an issue, but after backhaving I may go into the 9,s and a freind tried to certify his and failed cause of hollow pin and not enough meet at the end of the bar.

Has anyone got a cert with removable joints like these? I thought there was a post a few weeks back but can't find it.

Don't see how that would be of much use on a door bar. Take too long to tighten it up. Now for a removable seat/belt bar two of those would be the thing.

Since you've upgraded to a back half, upgrade to this:

http://www.cachassisworks.com/p-528-swing-out-clevis-dual-eyebolt1-5-8x134-cages.aspx

It's clean, VERY strong and I know it will cert to 8.50 if installed properly.

Not enough timeto get that peice where I live, if I would of known this was an issue i would of ordered it when I put my back half kit from allston in. Oh well, after numerous emails and pics and phone calls I have to add on enough meat to the end of the bar to come to 1.625 inches from the hole. May be that measurement from center of hole but I,ll ad a little extra. The cert guy is coming to the island this weekend to cert a bunch of cars starting at one end of the island and ending up 3/4 of the way. Thanks guys

Looks like the same piece at A.R.T for $24 less.
