Qtr Mile Help... - 04/06/11 06:34 PM

Hi Folks,

My brother and I are taking our 70 Cuda down to the Mopar Nationals next month in NJ. We plan on racing our old Cuda just for fun.

The last time we ran the car at the track was in 1998.
We ran a 15.2 qtr mile with:
An old 90,000 mile stock 71 340 with headers/edelbrock performer manifold/600 edelbrock performer carb and cooper cobra street tires.

This year we plan on running with:
Same old 91,000 mile engine (don't drive it much)
Headers/edelbrock 750/edelbrock airgap rpm/radial slicks

Just guessing what kind of time we should see with these improvements.
Also how much would the 750 Edelbrock carb add hp-wise vs. the 600.
And what about header wrap?

Just don't want to get beaten by a Neon!

not much to go on but if you were spinning (short times?) the drag radials may be your biggest gain look at the 750 to give about .100 in the quarter and maybe the same for the intake with no cam or head improvements.

Also, you did not say how bad the coopers were spinning if at all. If they were spinning wildly, you will be better off with your drag radials.

As long as it's not an SRT Neon, your good to go. Mid 14's.
